A. Congratulations! Whenever we discover something new about our charts, it signals that we are now ready to consciously connect with a greater mystery of who we are and what we’re here to do and with something like Lilith it is indeed a big mystery, a gift and some would say, a curse as well!
Depending on who you read, Lilith can be found in a number of places in our charts, either the asteroid, the Dark Moon (which is a mysterious gas cloud twice the distance from the earth as our Moon) and/or the Black Moon
(which is the second centre of gravity in the elliptical orbit of the Moon around the Earth). The fixed star is also associated with her.
In your chart, it’s the Black Moon that’s on your Midheaven (your Lilith asteroid is on the cusp of the 7th House of long term relationships but that’s a whole other story) and she is described in some systems as the 3rd crone stage of the Lilith myth, by Demetra George for instance.......... click 'Read More' below to continue...
Any image of Lilith around our career life demands that we develop the sacred feminine warrior energies and give them expression. With a 6th House Sun, you were always going to be of service to something greater then your self but Black Moon/Lilith, especially in Leo, points towards doing it from a place of great personal power and individualism, as opposed to old beliefs that set us up for subservience.
She can be found in people who work in areas like defending the rights of women, refugees, the under-privileged; in international law, in war zones, in women’s refuges. She is a gutsy advocate, activist, on the side of the deepest emotional truths and in any area of life where the feminine has continued to be dishonoured, rejected and abused.
She fits well with your Uranus also in Leo in the 10th as both speak of carving your own way professionally from a heightened and potent expression of independence, freedom and individuality. Both have their own forms of sacred magic too!
The Black Moon also sits well with your Pluto conjunct North Node in Virgo, also in the same house. In the cultural crossovers between east and west, I see the Black Moon as one half of the Pluto archetype, the consort and equal to the Hades/Shiva masculine. Both reinforce you progressively becoming an agent of deep transformative processes and courageously working in places where many can’t or won’t.
She is as much found in deep therapeutic and spiritual process, as in those who work on the life and death edges, like hospice work, conscious dying or in casualty departments. (The word spirituality is too light weight for her energy here as she is a form of great Shakti, the transformative serpentine power of the sacred feminine!)
Therapeutically, Lilith is comfortably operating in those who work with sexuality, masculine/feminine balances, sexual abuse and healing, relationship dynamics (especially in helping women regain their individuality and personal power) and in tantric processes.
And in working with the deepest ends of the emotional spectrum; rage, grief, all forms of toxicity, past-life and trans-generational residues and influences, conception/in-utero/birth traumas. This where the “curse” label comes in, as anyone with strong Lilith positions is a carrier of the same, the accumulation of rage, toxicity, grief and betrayal that comes form lifetimes, ages and generations of rejection of the feminine in all her forms.
So part of the journey of owning her power, and your own, is through processes that allow you to purify and release these carried residues. Whether through primal work, spiritual or shamanic midwifery, whatever takes you into these deepest places, it is absolutely necessary to be able to own this part of your birthright. The unfortunate truth is that distorted Lilith or any of the other “Dark Goddesses” are fully able to sabotage your life in their unhealed forms.
And bring an unbelievable level of fulfilment and success in answering your soul’s calling in her healed form, not too mention what she’ll do for your personal power, relationships and sexuality. Lilith becomes an embodiment of truly empowered, juicy, available, connected individual.
PS I’ll be a little cheeky here by mentioning that the Black Moon is one of the archetypes consciously and deeply worked with in the October Primal weekend in Byron Bay.
Also next May, Andrew Harvey and I will co-lead a 2 day workshop on the Black Madonna and the Sacred Feminine in the Blue Mountains.
These are two opportunities for working directly with the energies of the archetype ;)
